VIVAnews - Bakrie Connectivity (BConnect),
melalui brand AHA (Affordable High-speed Access), akan segera mengambil
bagian untuk memasarkan smartphone BlackBerry di Indonesia.

Besok,
Sabtu 15 April 2011, AHA akan menghadirkan perangkat BlackBerry untuk
pertama kalinya, yaitu BlackBerry Curve 8530, di Jakarta. Demikian
dikutip VIVAnews dari undangan Press Launch BlackBerry Curve 8530 from AHA.

Dengan
bertambahnya mitra Research In Motion (RIM) di Indonesia, otomatis
penyedia layanan BlackBerry menjadi tujuh operator. Sebelumnya, layanan
serupa telah disediakan oleh Indosat, Telkomsel, XL, Axis, Tri (3), dan
Smart Telecom.

Secara fisik, BlackBerry Curve 8530 sama persis
dengan BlackBerry Curve 8520 atau Gemini. Keduanya memiliki panjang 10,9
cm, lebar 6 cm, tebal 1,3 cm, dan berat 106 gram. Material dan bentuk
keypad Qwerty-nya pun tak ada yang berbeda.

Hanya saja perbedaan
terletak pada jaringan. Jika Gemini beroperasi di jaringan GSM 850 / 900
/ 1800 / 1900, Curve 8530 berjalan di jaringan CDMA 800 / 1900.

Dengan
begitu, akses data untuk Curve 8530 adalah 3G Rev. A yang maksimal
kecepatannya diklaim AHA mencapai 3,1 Mbps, sementara Gemini relatif
cepat dengan akses data EDGE 236,8 Kbps.

Selain itu, perbedaan
terdapat pada kinerja prosesor. Gemini memiliki prosesor berkemampuan
512 MHz, sementara Curve 8530 mempunyai prosesor setingkat 528 MHz.

Untuk
harga, AHA kabarnya akan membanderol BlackBerry Curve 8530 dengan harga
Rp1,9 juta (belum termasuk PPn) untuk 500 pelanggan Esia pertama. Harga
normalnya masih belum diketahui. Dibandingkan BlackBerry Gemini,
menurut pantauan VIVAnews, harga terakhir berkisar Rp2 juta sampai 2,4 juta.
